Date: Sunday, 29 Nisan 5765 (May 8, '05) Speaker: Dr. Amir Leshem (School of Engineering, Bar-Ilan University) Title: "Blind separation of constant modulus signals" Abstract: --------- In my talk I will describe the problem of recovering a linear transformation from points in the image together with some a-priori knowledge of the statistical properties of the sources. This problem is known as blind source separation or independent component analysis (when sources are independent random variables). The problem has many flavors which I will review. Then I will concentrate on the case where the sources are known to have constant modulus, and we are given finitely many points in the image. More specifically I will provide bounds on the probability of identifiability of the linear transformation given finite amount of samples. If time permits I will also discuss other related problems.
