Blow up of solutions of nonlinear parabolic and hyperbolic equations with positive initial energy
In this talk we will discuss the problem of global existence and non-existence of
solutions with arbitrary positive initial energy of initial boundary value problems for
nonlinear wave equations and nonlinear parabolic equations. Recent results on blow up of
solutions of damped nonlinear wave equation, generalized KdV equation, unstable
Cahn – Hilliard equation and generalized Kuramoto- Sivashinsky equation will be presented.
