Postdoctoral position in an Israel Science Foundation funded project in areas of Fractal Geometry and Ergodic Theory


Host: Prof. Boris Solomyak, Bar-Ilan University.

Detailed description: the main projects we are interested in have to do with (a) fractal-dimensional properties of sets and measures, (b) ergodic-theoretic and spectral properties of translation flows, interval exchanges, substitution and tiling dynamical systems, aperiodic order. However, we may also pursue other research interests in the broader area of Fractals and Dynamics.

Other top Israeli institutions such as the Hebrew University, Tel-Aviv University, the Weizmann Institute, and the Technion are easily accessible by public transportation, and interaction with them during the post-doc is encouraged and can be very beneficial.

Duration: The position is for up to 3 years, though time-length and starting date are flexible. Short-term applications for periods starting from 3 months will also be considered.
